Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Olivia (“Olivia,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you use the Olivia mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). Olivia is an adult social platform for graduates and people navigating life after school, with profiles, video updates, text and voice conversations, video calls, campus and post-graduation discovery, gatherings, and Campus Pal AI.
1. Scope and controller
This Policy applies wherever the Service is available. Olivia is the controller of personal information processed under this Policy. The legal operator is the developer identified for Olivia in the applicable app-store listing. Service providers process information on our instructions as described below. If you do not agree with this Policy, do not use the Service.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile information. We collect information you provide to create and maintain an account, including your name, username, email address, authentication credential or token, age or date-of-birth confirmation, profile photo, biography, school, graduation information, city, interests, and profile preferences.
User Content and communications. We process photos, videos, captions, posts, comments, reactions, follows, event activity, reports, support messages, and text, voice, or video communications you create or transmit. Voice and video data are transmitted and temporarily processed to provide live rooms and calls. Olivia does not record a private call unless a recording feature is clearly disclosed and all consent required by law is obtained.
Events and location-related information. When you browse, create, or join gatherings, we process event details, attendance status, school, city, and location information you choose to provide. We may infer an approximate location from your IP address. We access precise device location only when a feature requires it and after you grant device permission.
Campus Pal AI information. We process prompts, messages, files, feedback, relevant conversation context, generated responses, and safety signals needed to provide and protect Campus Pal AI. Do not submit passwords, payment credentials, government identifiers, private medical records, or other highly sensitive information.
Device, usage, and diagnostic information. We collect IP address, device and app identifiers, operating system, language, time zone, app version, network information, crash logs, performance data, pages and features used, searches, clicks, session timing, and interactions with content.
Safety and support information. We collect reports, blocked-account records, moderation decisions, evidence submitted to us, correspondence, and information reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, fraud, security incidents, rights complaints, or violations of our Terms.
3. Sources of information
We collect information directly from you; automatically from your device when you use the Service; from other users who interact with you, invite you, or report content; and from providers that support authentication, hosting, communications, voice and video, analytics, diagnostics, AI processing, safety, and app distribution. Information received from another source is handled under this Policy and any notice presented when you connect that service.
4. How we use information
- Create and maintain accounts, profiles, feeds, follows, recommendations, rooms, messaging, calls, events, and AI features.
- Help users discover people, conversations, communities, and gatherings based on interests, school, city, activity, and settings.
- Deliver notifications and service communications you request or that are necessary to operate the Service.
- Moderate content; detect spam, fraud, abuse, harmful conduct, and security threats; and enforce our Terms.
- Respond to support, privacy, safety, deletion, and legal requests.
- Measure performance, troubleshoot problems, prevent outages, conduct research, and improve accessibility, reliability, safety, and features.
- Comply with law, preserve evidence, protect rights and safety, and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
5. Legal bases for processing
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information as necessary to perform our contract with you; based on our legitimate interests in operating, improving, and protecting the Service; with your consent where requested; and to comply with legal obligations. Our legitimate interests include service security, fraud prevention, moderation, product improvement, and protecting users and rights. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing completed before withdrawal.
6. Recommendations, AI, and automated processing
Olivia uses automated systems to recommend people, rooms, posts, communities, or events and to identify content or behavior that may violate our rules. Campus Pal AI processes prompts and relevant context to generate responses, prevent abuse, troubleshoot, and improve the feature. Where required by law, we obtain separate consent before using identifiable private conversations for model training. We do not use solely automated processing to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
7. When we disclose information
We disclose personal information to providers that support hosting, cloud storage, content delivery, authentication, communications, voice and video infrastructure, analytics, crash monitoring, customer support, AI processing, and trust and safety. These providers are authorized to process information only to perform services for us and must provide privacy and security protections consistent with this Policy and applicable law.
We may also disclose information:
- To other users or the public according to your profile, posts, events, interactions, audience selections, and privacy settings.
- At your direction, including when you share content or connect a third-party service.
- To comply with law or valid legal process, or to protect a person, the public, Olivia, or another party's rights, property, or safety.
- As part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or transfer of assets, subject to appropriate notice and safeguards.
Olivia does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
8. Public content and social features
Your profile information, posts, video updates, live content, comments, and event participation may be visible to other users or the public depending on the feature and your settings. Other people may copy, save, or redistribute information you make visible. Review the audience and content carefully before posting. Private messages are visible to their participants and may be reviewed when reported or when reasonably necessary for safety, support, or legal compliance.
9. Data retention and account deletion
We retain account and profile information while your account is active. User Content remains until you delete it, close your account, or it is removed under our Terms, subject to limited legal and operational exceptions. Diagnostic, security, moderation, and support records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for service operation, fraud prevention, safety, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Retention is determined by the data's nature, sensitivity, purpose, risk, and applicable legal requirements.
When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify the account and associated personal information unless limited retention is permitted or required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or protection of rights. Deleted information may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period and is isolated from ordinary use until overwritten. Copies independently saved or reshared by other users are outside our control.
You may initiate deletion through the in-app account controls or our account-deletion page. You may also contact olivia@gmail.com. We may verify your identity before completing a request.
10. Your choices and privacy rights
You can edit profile information, control notifications, manage device permissions, block users, choose content audiences, and use available privacy settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, receive a portable copy, opt out of qualifying targeted advertising or sharing, and appeal a denied request. You may also complain to your local privacy or data-protection authority.
To exercise a right, use available in-app controls or email olivia@gmail.com. Describe the request and the account involved. We may verify your identity and authority to act for another person. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
11. Additional information for the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland
You may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent, and protection in relation to qualifying automated decisions. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object based on your circumstances. You may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority where you live, work, or believe a violation occurred.
12. Additional information for California and other U.S. states
During the preceding twelve months, Olivia may have collected the categories described in Section 2, including identifiers; account and profile details; internet or electronic activity; approximate or permission-based geolocation; audio, visual, and communications content; education-related profile details; and inferences used for recommendations and safety. We collect these categories from the sources in Section 3, use them for the purposes in Section 4, and disclose them to the recipients described in Section 7.
Olivia has not sold personal information or shared it for cross-context behavioral advertising during the preceding twelve months. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 18. Residents of applicable U.S. states may request access, correction, deletion, or portability and may appeal a denied request. Where required, an authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf, subject to verification.
13. International data transfers
The Service may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, including adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, the United Kingdom International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, contractual protections, and supplementary security measures. You may contact us for information about applicable safeguards.
14. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, service-provider oversight, and encryption in transit where appropriate. No system is completely secure. Protect your credentials and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
15. Device permissions
Olivia may request access to the camera for video calls and video updates, the microphone for voice rooms and calls, photos or media for content you choose to upload, notifications for service alerts and interactions, and location for location-based discovery. Permission is requested through your device when needed. You can revoke access in device settings, although the related feature may become unavailable.
16. Age requirement
Olivia is intended only for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
17. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the Service, technology, or law changes. We will post the updated version and revise the effective date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required.
